If you’ve already been charged with a DUI/OVI in Athens or anywhere in Southern Ohio, you may want to contact Athens DUI/OVI lawyer, Susan Ginn.
But here are four ways you can AVOID GETTING A DUI in the first place:
1. DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE
Of course, this first one’s a no-brainer, but it needs to be said. If you never drink and drive, you’ll never get a DUI/OVI. Period. If you’ve been drinking, don’t get behind the wheel. That simple step could save your life or someone else’s.
2. HAVE A DESIGNATED DRIVER
If you’re going out with friends, appoint a designated driver who’ll be staying sober no matter what.
3. CALL A TAXI OR AN UBER
Uber has a one-touch feature that uses your phone’s GPS to pinpoint your location and find available drivers in your area. No cash needed. They keep your card on file.
4. USE A BREATHALYZER APP
- DrinkTracker – Breathalyzer simulator & BAC (blood alcohol content) calculator app – keeps track of your blood alcohol based on how many drinks you’ve had.
- Intoxicheck – This app will check your reaction times – before and after drinking – to let you know if you’re safe to drive or not.
- BreathalEyes – Checks your eyes’ involuntary movement, similar to the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test a police officer might otherwise have to give you.
You may also want to pick up a BACtrack Mobile Breathalyzer, which attaches to your smartphone and measures your actual blood alcohol content.
